Aug. 2016 – Erhvervsinvest acquires the Agrometer Group

Erhvervsinvest acquires 100% of the shares in the Agrometer group, which is a leading global manufacturer of high quality slurry handling equipment.

Erhvervsinvest will continue the company’s growth through development of own products and by adding competencies and resources to export sales.

Agrometer is specialized in developing, manufacturing and selling high quality machines and equipment for handling and transporting liquids with special emphasis on slurry in agriculture. The company’s core product is a unique slurry spreading system which is more effective, environmentally friendly and economical than traditional tractor driven slurry spreaders. The slurry spreading system’s high distribution capacity makes it ideal for use in large farms. Agrometer also manufactures and sells irrigation machines and systems used in agriculture, on golf courses and in parks, as wells as pumps for wastewater in water treatment plants and waste oil in the maritime industry.

Dansk Smede- og Maskinteknik is, as part of the Agrometer group, a supplier of metal structures to several of Agrometer’s core products and an important part of the groups supply chain. Dansk Smede- og Maskinteknik is – in addition to the close collaboration with Agrometer – a highly specialized manufacturer of metal structures to leading equipment manufacturers in the food industry.

CEO Ivan Petersen says: “We have with the support of our talented employees formed a group which offers market leading products and services to both agriculture and industry. We look forward to continuing the groups development together with Erhvervsinvest, and to focus on the exciting opportunities which among other are in export”

CSO Peter Pedersen continues: “We have in the last couple of years experienced and rapidly increasing interest for our own slurry spreading systems from both Danish and especially foreign customers. It has therefore been important to us to find the right investor which can continue the internationalization of the group and help taking it to a new level. The group will in Erhvervsinvest get an owner with both the capital and skills to continue the group’s development and utilize the opportunities the group and its employees face now and in the future.”

Thomas Marstrand, Managing Partner in Erhvervsinvest says: “The Agrometer group is a good and well managed company with strong capabilities in production and development of high quality products. The group has an attractive market position, and we see a significant potential for organic growth by an increased export effort and continued development of own machines and products. We look forward to continuing the groups development from the already strong foundation that has skillfully been created by its management and employees”.

The Agrometer group achieved earnings before taxes of DKK 8.5 million in 2015 and expects increased activity and earnings for the 2016 financial year.

In connection with the change of ownership will the board of directors be joined by Kurt Bering Sørensen (Chairman), former CEO in Dovista A/S, and Carsten Bjerg (director), formerly in Grundfos.
