Jun. 2014 – With two acquisitions within a week ProDesign is now one of the most significant key players within the Eyewear industry

The purchase agreement concluded last week with the French company Face à Face was hardly signed before ProDesign once again signed a new purchase agreement, this time with the owners of the widely recognised Danish company Inface.

It is with pride that the CEO of ProDesign, Dion Eriksen, can disclose the acquisition of one of the industry’s strongest designer brands Face à Face and the acquisition of Inface known for creating fashionable designer frames. ProDesign is owned by the private equity fund Erhvervsinvest. The acquisitions are complementary to the current product portfolio and will strengthen the market position of the Group significantly.

Dion Eriksen, CEO of ProDesign, elaborates:

“The mergers complement ProDesign’s business model and support the strategy to grow organically and through acquisitions. Products from Face à Face and Inface fill out a void in thecurrent product line. Furthermore, there is a large unexploited market potential for both companies. Consequently, we expect the growth rates for both companies to reach the same level as for the existing company. We also expect to benefit from the experience of each company which will contribute to the
continous development of the Group.”

Inface
Inface was founded in 1986 by optician Hans Laursen. Inface supplies frames at a price level which complements the ProDesign product range. Inface has also built up an impressive collection of sunglasses and a very strong children’s eyewear collection.

The 2nd generation of the Laursen family, Mette and Thomas Laursen, will continue as Inface employees while Hans Laursen will remain on board as a Senior Consultant focusing on the development within Inface.

Hans Laursen states on behalf of the family:

“It is with confidence that our family join forces with ProDesign. We are certain that ProDesign and its employees will welcome the Inface family while ensuring the continued development and growth of the company. The acquisition of Face à Face is incredibly interesting and we have only positive feelings towards this company which holds a unique market position.”

Face à Face
Face à Face which was founded in 1994 by Pascal Jaulent and Nadine Roth is a world-class designer brand in terms of expression and contemporary design. Their products belong to the absolute high-end segment. The frames are thus priced higher than ProDesign’s range of products and thereby complementing the existing product portfolio.

Pascal Jaulent and Nadine Roth will continue as shareholders and will continue to be the driving forces within Face à Face.

Pascal Jaulent says:

“It was important for Face à Face to find a new partner who will ensure further development of the company and we are convinced that ProDesign is the right match. We are looking forward to the future cooperation and see a prosperous and bright future for the Group. We are also of the opinion that the Group with the recent acquisition of Inface achieves a very attractive and complete product portfolio.”

Dion Eriksen expects that the total turnover for 2014 including acquisitions will reach more than DKK 350 million and that the full result of the company mergers will be visible in 2015.
